SPRINGRIDGE FARM

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Springridge Farm here in Milton, Ontario.

2025 is a big year for us – we’re celebrating our 65th season of Springridge.

Springridge is perched high on the side of the Niagara Escarpment (with views to Lake Ontario) in what’s known as the GTA (Greater Toronto Area).  We’re fortunate to enjoy proximity to a large and growing population.  Our own town has grown by more than 300% in the last 15 years.

We have slowly and deliberately grown from what was primarily a wholesale fruit farm in the 1960s.  Like so many direct farm marketers, our story includes our adventures in pick-your-own, value-added products, and entertainment experiences.

Today, we are open daily 9-5 from Easter to Christmas and there’s always something in season at Springridge.  We grow and sell strawberries and pumpkins and offer other local produce throughout the season.  Our 19th Century barn is home to our Market where we operate a scratch bakery which sells our signature pies and pastries, and a robust gourmet foods area.  We operate our Front Porch Servery from this barn as well which offers farm-style lunches.

Our barn market is also home to our award-winning gift and décor shop.  We source product from hundreds of vendors and our offerings reflect our visitors’ interest in seasonal themes and everyday staples.

Our Fun Farmyard is open from Easter to Halloween and attracts many young families from our surrounding urban areas.  We offer a popular Spring & Summer Pass and our busiest season by far is our Harvest Season which runs in September and October.

Our farm business operated for years as a partnership structure with John and Laura Hughes as owner/operators – we’ve recently engaged in a successful succession exercise which saw Springridge adopt a corporate structure with daughter Amy and son Tom adopting ownership and management functions.

Like so many businesses, Springridge has had to pivot and adapt in recent years as outside events and the needs/wants of our business have evolved.  We have streamlined which was surprising to some – gone are our popular Birthday Parties, School Tours, Seasonal Festivals, and pick-your-own operation.  As a result, our business is more popular and successful than ever.
